The short version

Chapters is a place to discover things worth trying and experience them together. Join chapters, participate in editions, share notes and recipes, and build lists.

A few things to know:

  • Joining a chapter is free. You choose what to order, with no subscription or automatic deliveries.

  • Products ship directly from our brand partners. Orders may arrive in separate parcels.

  • Carrier transit times are outside our control. We’ll help investigate shipping problems, but replacements and refunds are not guaranteed in every case.

  • You own what you post. You give us permission to use it to operate Chapters.

  • Respect other people, their work, and their privacy.

  • We may remove content or restrict accounts that violate these terms.

  • Promotional texts are optional. You can unsubscribe at any time.

This summary is a guide. The full terms below govern your use of Chapters.

Who we are

Chapters is operated by Clockwork Wholesale, LLC, doing business as Chapters. In these terms, “Chapters,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to that company.

These terms apply when you browse Chapters, create an account, make a purchase, or contribute content. They incorporate our Privacy Policy and Return and Refund Policy.

By using Chapters, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Your account

Provide accurate account and purchase information, and keep it current. You are responsible for protecting access to your account and for activity you authorize through it.

Do not impersonate someone else or access an account without permission. Contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.

You must be at least the age of majority where you live to use Chapters. Some products have additional age and location restrictions. You must meet those requirements to purchase them and may be asked to verify your eligibility.

Chapters and editions

A chapter is a group with a shared interest. An edition is something people choose to try together.

Joining a chapter does not commit you to buying its editions. You decide which purchases to make. Creating or hosting an edition does not authorize you to make purchases or commitments on someone else’s behalf.

Chapter membership and participation in an edition may provide different access to content and features.

What you share

You are responsible for the posts, notes, recipes, lists, photos, videos, links, and other material you contribute.

Only share content you own or have permission to use. Your content must respect other people’s rights and comply with applicable law and these terms.

You keep ownership of your content.

You give Chapters a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute your content, and to make technical changes needed to operate and improve the service. Those changes may include formatting posts for different screens or resizing images.

We may use service providers to carry out these activities on our behalf. This permission does not transfer ownership of your content to us or allow us to disregard its audience restrictions.

We will not sell your content to third parties. Posting does not entitle you to compensation or create an employment, partnership, or agency relationship with Chapters.

Who can see it

The audience for your content depends on where you share it. Public content may be visible to anyone. Content in restricted spaces is available according to that space’s access rules.

Authorized staff and service providers may access restricted content when needed to operate the service, provide support, investigate abuse, or meet legal obligations.

People who can view content may copy or share it outside Chapters. We cannot guarantee that it will stay within its original audience. Keep that in mind before sharing personal or confidential information.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and retain personal information.

How to treat people

Disagreement is welcome. Abuse is not.

Do not:

  • Harass, threaten, or target people with hateful conduct.

  • Share someone else’s private or confidential information without permission.

  • Post nudity, sexual content, or graphic violence.

  • Infringe copyright, trademarks, or other rights.

  • Impersonate people or misrepresent your affiliations.

  • Post spam or promotions where they are not allowed.

  • Scrape or collect information about other users without authorization.

  • Upload malicious code, interfere with security, or disrupt the service.

  • Use Chapters for unlawful activity.

Hosts may set additional rules for their chapters, provided those rules do not conflict with these terms.

Moderation

We may review content and remove it, limit its visibility, or restrict access when we believe it violates these terms, infringes someone’s rights, or creates a safety or security concern.

We may suspend or close accounts for those reasons. We cannot promise to review every contribution or remove every violation immediately.

To report harmful content or a possible rights violation, contact [support email]. Include a link and enough information for us to investigate.

Orders and payment

Check the product, size, quantity, delivery address, and total before placing an order. Prices, shipping charges, and taxes are shown during the purchase process.

Products may be limited in quantity. We may decline an order or cancel an item we cannot supply. If payment has already been taken for an item we cancel, we will refund the applicable amount.

Price changes apply to future purchases. If we discover an error affecting an existing order, we will contact you about the correction or cancellation and any applicable refund.

You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. Contact us promptly if it needs correcting. Changes may not be possible once an order is being prepared or has shipped.

Shipping and delivery

Your order ships directly from the roaster or maker. Products from different partners may arrive separately and on different schedules.

A ship date describes when a parcel is expected to leave the shipping partner. An estimated arrival date describes when the carrier expects to deliver it. Arrival estimates are not guarantees unless expressly stated otherwise.

Once a parcel is with USPS, UPS, or another carrier, transit times and delivery are outside our control.

If your shipment is delayed, lost, or marked delivered but missing, contact us. We’ll work with the shipping partner to help investigate and pursue any available carrier claim. A replacement or refund is not guaranteed and depends on the circumstances, applicable coverage, and your rights under law.

To the extent permitted by law, Chapters is not responsible for carrier delays, loss in transit, theft after delivery, or delivery problems caused by an incorrect address you supplied. This does not limit any responsibility or remedy that cannot legally be excluded.

If an order cannot ship within the promised time, we will provide the notices, cancellation options, and refunds required by applicable law.

Returns and refunds

Our Return and Refund Policy explains when returns, replacements, cancellations, and refunds are available. Any final-sale restrictions are subject to that policy and your legal rights.

If something arrives damaged, is incorrect, or does not arrive, contact [support email] with your order information.

When only part of an order is canceled or refunded, unrelated items remain purchased unless we tell you otherwise. Applicable taxes, discounts, and shipping charges are handled according to the circumstances, our published policy, and applicable law.

Other websites and services

Chapters may link to third-party websites or use third-party tools. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices.

We do not control third-party websites or endorse everything they publish. Review their policies before sharing information or making purchases through them.

Our service and materials

Chapters’ software, branding, and other materials belong to us or our licensors. These terms do not give you permission to copy, resell, or exploit the service or its materials, except as permitted by law or with our written permission.

This does not limit your ownership of your own content.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without an obligation to compensate you.

Text messages

Chapters’ text messaging service is operated by Clockwork Wholesale, LLC, doing business as Chapters.

What you’re signing up for

When you opt in, you agree to receive recurring text messages from Chapters at the number you provide. Depending on the program you choose, these may include order updates, account alerts, new editions, promotions, or cart reminders. Messages may be sent using automated technology.

Promotional messages require your consent. Creating an account, joining a chapter, or placing an order does not by itself subscribe you to promotional texts. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

Message frequency varies. Chapters does not charge for these messages, but your carrier’s message and data rates may apply.

Stopping messages

Reply STOP to a Chapters message to unsubscribe. You may receive one final message confirming your request.

You can also contact [support email] to withdraw your consent. If you subscribe to more than one messaging program, tell us whether you want to stop one program or all Chapters texts. We will honor your request as required by applicable law.

Getting help

Reply HELP to a Chapters message or email [support email].

Your number

Only provide a number you own or are authorized to use. Let us know if you give up or change that number so we can stop sending messages to it. Consent does not transfer to a new owner of the number.

Delivery and availability

Text delivery depends on your carrier and network availability. Messages may be delayed or fail to arrive. Chapters and wireless carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages to the extent permitted by law.

We may change or discontinue the messaging service. If our sending number changes, we will notify you as required. You can still contact our support address for help or to unsubscribe.

Privacy and changes

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your phone number and other personal information.

Changes to these terms do not expand your messaging consent. We will obtain additional consent when required by law.

Availability and responsibility

We work to keep Chapters useful and available, but we cannot promise uninterrupted access or that every description, post, or feature will be free of errors. Features may change or be discontinued.

To the extent permitted by law, the service and products are provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement.

To the extent permitted by law, Clockwork Wholesale, LLC and its personnel and service providers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from your use of Chapters or products purchased through it.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights, warranties, remedies, or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Claims arising from your conduct

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Clockwork Wholesale, LLC and its personnel and service providers against third-party claims and reasonable legal costs arising from your unlawful conduct, infringement of another person’s rights, or breach of these terms.

Leaving Chapters

You may stop using Chapters at any time. Contact [support email] to request account closure.

Closing an account does not automatically cancel an existing order. Content and personal information are handled according to our Privacy Policy and applicable retention requirements.

Provisions that need to continue after account closure, including those concerning existing purchases, content permissions, liability, and disputes, remain effective as applicable.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Chapters changes. We will post the revised version with its effective date and provide additional notice when required by law.

If you do not agree to an update, stop using the service. Changes do not remove rights that already apply to an existing purchase.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply. These terms and the policies they incorporate form the agreement between you and Chapters concerning the service.
